Picture Books to Promote Inclusion in Early Childhood
1 user likes thisThis is a short annotated list of what I consider to be some of the best in print picture books that inclusively portray young child characters with disabilities. The best ones tell interesting stories about children doing interesting things with their disabilities portrayed as just a natural part of their lives. The goal of this list is to provide teachers, librarians and parents with a list of currently available picture books that will help to advance inclusion aims in a variety of settings (schools, libraries and homes). I have also included notable websites on the topics of diversity and inclusion in children's books.
