1959 adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous Sherlock Holmes story. Peter Cushing, most recognizable as Grand Moff Tarkin from "Star Wars," is Holmes, Andre Morrell is Watson, and Christopher Lee is Baskerville. I'm not sure who played the hound. It's a faithful, slightly dull, adaptation that's enlivened by the performers. It was produced by Hammer Films, better known for their horror movies. Lee and Cushing were frequent co-stars and it's always fun to see them together. Director Terence Fisher also worked with Lee and Cushing on "Horror of Dracula" and "The Mummy."
