I was looking for a biography. I saw this title and my eyes lit up. Skimming through the table of contents, my enthusiasm cooled. But then, I saw the names Terry Fox--one of my heroes--Robertson Davies--as a kid I delivered newspapers to his house--and Lester Pearson--my dad always lionized the man. I took the book home. I was disappointed. The few pages about Terry Fox were about the movie not the man. The sections on Davies and Pearson were insightful even if anecdotal. His cast of characters might be Newman's heroes; they might even prove to be yours, but, they're not mine; especial the business tycoons. For the most part the author engages in a name dropping exercise telling us about his swell luncheon schedule with some of Canada's high and mighty.
