Crossed is the second novel in the Matched trilogy written by Allie Condie. The Society has taken away too much from there citizens and now they have taken away Ky. Cassia, determined to find him, journeys to the outer provinces where she learns that Ky has escaped into the carving. Cassia along with her friend Indie learn that there are many secrets the society has been hiding. She realizes that the perfect world she once trusted and that kept her safe was all a lie. While on the lookout for Ky, Cassia also ends up finding something that could make her future with Ky possible; a rebellion is on the rise. Crossed is definitely a harder read than the first novel Matched, because each chapter transitions between Cassia and Ky. Also the events that occur in the novel are not suitable for a younger audience. This novel is definitely a mature read. Fans of the Divergent series and The Hunger Games would definitely like reading this novel. If you enjoyed Matched, I would highly recommend reading Crossed. Overall, if I had to rate this novel, I would have to rate it five out of five stars. @SapphireReads of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
