This is a 1946 American thriller directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock. Ingrid Bergman plays Alicia Huberman, a daughter of a convicted Nazi spy. Cary Grant plays an American agent T.R. Devlin who infiltrates an organization of Nazi based in Brazil after World War II. Alicia is now enlisted by Devlin to spy on the Nazi secret ring. While awaiting the details of her assignment in Rio de Janeiro, Alicia and Devlin fall in love, though his feelings are complicated by his knowledge of her wild past. When Devlin gets instructions to persuade her to seduce Alex Sebastian (Claude Rains), Devlin tries to convince his superiors that Alicia is not fit for the job. He puts up a stoic front when he informs Alicia about the mission, choosing duty over love. Alicia concludes that he was merely pretending to love her as part of his job. Her espionage work becomes life-threatening after she marries Alex---the most debonair of the Nazi ring. Thrill, suspense and love---but not sex---certainly make you exciting and trembling. This is one of the best entertaining flicks.
