In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so heavily that she became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads. The sharp insights and humor are even more personal in this completely original collection. She shares the wisdom she's learned from a life in comedy and reveals stories from her life off stage, including the brutal singles life in New York (i.e. the inevitable confrontation with erectile dysfunction), reconnecting with her roots (and drinking snake blood) in Vietnam, tales of being a wild child growing up in San Francisco, and parenting war stories. Though addressed to her daughters, Ali Wong's letters are absurdly funny, surprisingly moving, and enlightening (and disgusting) for all.

Filled with hilarious stories from the comedian, Ali Wong. If you are a fan of her Netflix specials, then this is a must read and will keep you laughing throughout the whole book.

FANTASTIC. I love Ali Wong's stand up and Netflix specials as well as her movie. I loved her upbringing and honesty. As a first-generation immigrant, I can relate a lot. There's a difference between North American and European emigrant life than other places in the world. It is not easy to assimilate and if a person can, there is always someone that points the fact they are not the same as them and are not genuinely happy for their success. I love Ali Wong's rawness matter of fact and wide openness with her life and her experiences very unapologetically real and the exaggerations are great and sometimes relatable.

Yow! Read at your own peril.
However, I do like author allowing her spouse a chapter as counterpoint.

Written as a series of letters to her daughters, this book by comedian Ali Wong, who also worked on "Fresh Off the Boat," is a pretty funny, pretty vulgar look at parenthood, comedy, race, and many more things. If you like her, you'll like this.
