In the early hours of a quiet, weekend morning in Manhattan's Diamond District, at the scene of a brutal triple murder, the killer left behind a half-million dollars' worth of gems at the scene. As more crimes follow, it becomes clear that the killer's target is not gems, but engaged couples themselves. Then a witness is left alive. Vimal Lahori, a young diamond cutter, can help Rhyme and Sachs blow the lid off the case-- but has gone into hiding. They must track down Vimal before the killer can correct his fatal error.

Had read this book previously, not one of his best. Think it was his first book written after his motorcycle accident not up to his standard of writing. Just not as interesting as his books are normally. Finished it as I am a die hard Deaver fan.

A complete waste of time. The worst Lincoln Ryme novel he's written.

Another brilliant Lincoln Rhyme novel with the requisite, tantalizing twists. Deaver leaves no stone unturned and ties up loose ends, especially for one of the almost victims which, as an avid reader, I was waiting for and Deaver didn't disappoint. The only burr in my saddle is that Deaver is becoming almost too formulaic for his own good.

What an amazing book in the series so many twists and red herrings.
