I really enjoyed the narrative voice and the concept of "this is what life is really like for a teenager: not all that much happens." The characters were likable and they had a nice, affectionate friendship.

While it may ring true to how many teens perceive the world around them, the sometimes judgmental and sometimes dismissive attitudes with which the narration viewed the main characters' classmates was sometimes problematic. It would have been nice if the characters at least had to confront these biases to some extent, as the piece stands the characters never question whether there is anything wrong with dismissing their peers as fake or annoying or weird, and so readers have no reason to challenge those behaviors within themselves.

I enjoyed the "nothing really happens" premise, but, I don't think it would hold up for a longer book.
