The thrills continue in the second action-packed adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling Beyonders trilogy.
After the cliffhanger ending of A World Without Heroes, Jason is back in the world he's always known--yet for all his efforts to get home, he finds himself itching to return to Lyrian. Jason knows that the shocking truth he learned from Maldor is precious information that all of his friends in Lyrian, including Rachel, need if they have any hope of surviving and defeating the evil emperor.
Meanwhile, Rachel and the others have discovered new enemies--as well as new abilities that could turn the tide of the entire quest. And as soon as Jason succeeds in crossing over to Lyrian, he's in more danger than ever. Once the group reunites, they strive to convince their most-needed ally to join the war and form a rebellion strong enough to triumph over Maldor. At the center of it all, Jason and Rachel realize what roles they're meant to play--and the answers are as surprising as they are riveting.
The second book in the Beyonders trilogy, it manages to maintain the steady flux of new and quirky places and characters, without overloading us. The real appeal in this book is discovering a completely alternate world - and all the exciting differences from ours. I will also eternally wonder if the title is a pun or not.
Poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop
Not really.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesommmmmmmmmmeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great pacing; not too slow, not too quick. Lots of action right off the bat. I love all of the strange creatures and all of the magic of the land. Brandon Mull creates a feeling of tension in this book; it's like waiting for a dam to burst. Very lovely book.
I was given the first book in the series for Christmas of this year. It took me a while to get to reading it, but once I did, I stayed up until late o finish it. It's an amazing series, and I recommend it to anyone with a sense of thrill and adventure.
I thoroughly enjoyed book 2 in this series and found it to be slightly better than book 1 – ‘A World Without Heroes.’ I highly recommend to my contemporaries Brandon Mull’s 5-book Fablehaven Series, starting with ‘Fablehaven.’ Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.
