The quiet story of a park bench. Over a period of several years, this bench is the place where several unassuming people continue to return to and live some of their most important moments. A moving story told entirely without the use of words. It's a reading experience you won't want to miss!

If you've read Chaboute's earlier work, Alone, you already know what to expect in terms of beautiful black-and-white illustrations.

You may be wondering, though, how he's going to create a story surrounding a park bench? He does, though, and does it well.

It's a story without words, a slice of life, albeit one that spans a few years, surrounding the titular seat and the people who step into its environment from day to day. The reader slowly pieces stories about each person together, coming to know them, following along with their lives, their successes, failures, traumas, and joys.

A quiet tale with a solid impact that comes to a satisfying full-circle conclusion.
