I liked the start of this series, but if I'm being honest it felt a little like Vampire Academy. I also would have wanted to see more character development between Alex and Aiden. Not JLA's best work.

A great main character who constantly leaves remarks and may come off as obnoxious, but keep the reader waiting for her next comment. But it does come off as many other books do. A girl leaves her school then comes back and must catch up since she is a few years behind in training. She begins training with a trainer everyday and starts to fall for him. Kinda stereotypical, but the banter between the characters can be entertaining and funny.

Love, love, love! This book is still excellent but it gets even better in the middle of the series! Alex is such a strong protagionst, and i love the smart-ass comments she makes! Great book.

I was so bored in this book. The novella was good, so I got this one. That was a mistake. I didn't like this book, it was so boring and the main character was very rude and obnoxious.

Honestly this book wasn't very interesting. I got bored with in within the first chapter. it seemed like a typical mythical creature book

Great book! I like that it's about gods, etc. and so that makes it a bit more original. Alex is a great character and while her actions might be a bit bold and she lashes out a lot, she still seems like a smart person (yay!!) - I mean, I get so annoyed when books have characters that make such stupid choices that have you rolling your eyes. Also, I like Aiden (though he's a bit passive and could have some more *umph* to him) and Seth is great too (he gets better in the second book too :)

"Did you think he was just some lazy pure-blood who needed protection?” His voice dripped sarcasm.
“Well he looks like one! How was I supposed to know he was secretly Rambo in Dockers?"
