Book dispelled several myths from raid only on Tokyo (hit four other cities), thought by Doolittle (army bureaucrat flying over training field), all planes crash landed in China (nope, turned right & landed in Russia).
Interesting that targeting Imperial palace was forbidden because that will unite Japanese forever.
Japanese military officers were right American bombers don't have the range to bomb Japan in normal circumstances.
However, they didn't realize how B-25 given the "A-team treatment" to be flying gas can by grumbling US Army or planes going low & slow to avoid radar & conserve fuel.
