Agnes has finally escaped her abusive ex-husband Goss, who has recently been released from state prison. Agnes is a lonely waitress with a tragic past who moves into a sleazy, run-down Oklahoma motel room with her lesbian co-worker R.C. She, in turn, introduces Agnes to Gulf War veteran, Peter, a peculiar, paranoiac drifter and they begin a tentative romance. However, things don't always seem as they appear and Agnes is about to experience a claustrophobic nightmare reality... as the bugs begin to arrive.

Add a CommentThis movie left the station right on time, everything was running smoothly... Then it just derailed; went right off the tracks. Crashed and burned.
kudos to Ashley judd for being wiling to go all the way ....... AND BEYOND !!!!
The acting was good but I wasn’t interested in the story. This movie is based on a play and perhaps it just didn’t translate well to the big screen.
I think if I were as high on the same drugs these guys were, I might have "got" this movie! I kept watching hoping the point of this movie might show itself. Nah....Don't waste your time.
Ashley Judd is a trouper in this misguided film. Though I enjoy Michael Shannon, he's annoying here in the role he created off Broadway. I get the point of the movie but I wish Friedkin wasn't married to self mutilation to tell a story of paranoia. I hope Judd gets a better vehicle someday soon, she's very talented.
This was like a bad meth trip, skip it
It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box.
William Friedkin, famous for The French Connection, The Exorcist, The Boys in the Band does very few films nowadays. Bug is a film with characters that you want to get away from as they seem worse and worse as time goes by. Since the characters started getting kinda creepy, I didn't like any of them by the end. Good riddance! Strangely though, I started to see if his next film was on DVD yet.
This movie could have been better, as I found that it was hard to follow at times. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it but it is worth a watch. I would recommend this to fans of psychological thrillers.
Michael Shannon (also in the fabulous movie Shotgun Stories) is pretty brilliant in this film. I expected a cheesy horror film, but the movie takes a different turn. smart, unexpected, and good acting.
