The late-medieval artist Hieronymus Bosch caused uproar 500 years ago with his fantastical and unique paintings. In preparation for a contemporary exhibition of his work, a team of Dutch art historians crisscrosses the globe to unravel Bosch's secrets, and to borrow his works. As they shuttle between world-class museums, they encounter a seemingly impenetrable tangle of red tape, ego, and conflicting interests.

A fascinating look at the international art world and how exhibitions with loans from different institutions are negotiated. I also had not realized how little is actually known about such a famous artist.

An insider look at art authentication and overall an interesting documentary.

Somewhat dry but overall interesting documentary about the endeavor of gathering and authenticating 25 plus existing Bosch paintings around the world. The Kansas City connection had me watching until the end. Pretty cool to have the Nelson Atkins Museum discussed in the same film with the Prado in Madrid!
