IMO - When it comes to the musical genre of "progrock" - These Yes songs (which were recorded in 1973) are, without question, absolute self-indulgent rubbish to the 10th power.
If you can actually sit through listening to these 2 discs without cringing at the utter banality of it all - Then - You must be a real glutton for punishment.
No, not a defining work but not as bad as original reviews. In my opinion it's too much Yes caught in a narrow groove. Fragile is a much better example of a creative and diverse Yes, maybe their best concept album. I could be persuaded that Close maybe the best. However, the Ancient in Topographic has always been my favorite cut on the album, don't know for sure why.
