Add a CommentAn excellent intro to some of the top investigating reporters today who are not household names. Also tells us of their awesome web sites, and some of their award winning films.
Directed by Fred Peabody in 2016, this 91-minute documentary exposes government and corporate deception just as the ground-breaking independent journalist I.F. Stone did in the 1960s.
Featuring footage from the last six decdes, the film makes you question what you see and read the news broadcast from mainstream media.
Amazing, provocative and alarming!
A must watch! In this bleary era of fake news and corporate everything, see how some brave reporters tackle the issues using the great I. F. Stone as the guiding light.
It's very past time we all do are homework on this subject.
If we care for OUR country then we must know what is a lie.
Yes..they are many past lies...it's becoming really bad now.
Take the time to watch this one...and learn what we NEED
to know and how we must look at what is RIGHT for us.
There is power in the TRUTH and we need it today.
And I very much agree with the comment below.
Fantastic. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is that I wish they could have used even more details and more independent journalists.
Eye opening, showing the viewers what journalism should be and what it currently has become.
Excellent, excellent documentary. Real journalism at it's best.
Vancouver-based filmmaker and TV news veteran Fred Peabody explores the life and legacy
of the maverick American journalist I.F. Stone, whose long one-man crusade against government deception lives on in the work of such contemporary filmmakers and journalists as Laura Poitras, Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill (these 3 founded 'The Intercept'), Amy Goodman ('Democracy Now'), Matt Taibbi ('Rolling Stone'). Also in the film are Noam Chomsky and Chris Hedges.
