Born in Rome, Italy (1928) - Ennio Morricone is a gifted composer, conductor, and trumpet player. Working continually in this medium - He is considered to be one of the most versatile and influential composers of all time.

Throughout his 70-year career - Morricone has composed over 500 scores for both cinema and television. To date - His records have sold more than 70 million copies, worldwide.

This "Greatest Hits" CD contains 16 track in all. These motion picture selections were all recorded in 1998 at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome.

Two of my favourite selections here are - "The Mission" (Gabriel's Oboe) and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" (title track).
