"Storming the Digital Divide" tells the graphic story of PovNet, an online anti-poverty network based in British Columbia with links to the rest of Canada and beyond. It is written by Penny Goldsmith, founder of PovNet and a long-time Vancouver feminist organizer, and anti-poverty activist and BC artist and activist Kara Sievewright. Some of the stories discuss how an online commons can work in urban and rural communities. Others talk about what it used to be like to organize before the internet, and tell the history of how PovNet got started. The book also includes a poverty timeline that links anti-poverty issues with organizing strategies throughout British Columbia and the rest of Canada.
