Regarding the other comments posted here: this series may be low-budget, dated, and sometimes slow-moving, but I thought it was nevertheless a well-done and entertaining anthology series, based on some excellent stories. I especially liked the adaptations of "Afterward" and "The Demon Lover." It should appeal to those who (like me) are fans of series like The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, etc.

Low key horror, without splatter, jump scares, or characters behaving stupidly, This is a lower budget TV production, but Shades of Darkness dramatizes classic English stories of the supernatural that will haunt you for years to come.

Despite great authors this DVD is very dated in production. It's slow & belabored even with the greats of Brit acting. Nice to see so many actors in their very early careers.
