In a small town, as high school graduation approaches, two conjoined sisters must weigh the importance of their dreams as individuals against the risk inherent in the surgery that has the potential to separate them forever. Conjoined twins Clara and Hailey have lived in the same small town their entire lives. But there are cracks in their quiet existence and they're slowly becoming more apparent. Clara wants to stay close to home, avoid all attention, and study the night sky. Hailey wants to travel the world, learn from great artists, and dance with mysterious boys. As high school graduation approaches, each twin must untangle her dreams from her sister's and figure out what it means to be her own person.

WELL. I was ready to hate it, especially when it started dipping into boy territory. Then something happened. My 16 year old self connected with the feelings that these two conjoined twins had. The feeling of wanting to belong and knowing you never will. The desire to be liked by the cute guy and the surprise when you are. The fear of the unknown and the known. I think it captures the teenage experience very accurately without being too cliched. The story switched viewpoint with alternating chapters that was slightly confusing, thankfully eventually I could remember Hailey had the pink hair. The insight you could get from each's viewpoint was so nuanced and beautiful. I also enjoyed their relationship with their overprotective mom. The theme of where to go to college I think alot of young people relate to. The idea of going somewhere new can strike a chord with teenagers who long for adventure but aren't sure if they're brave enough. By the end I was hooked and fully vested in their story.
