Python for Dummies is based on Python 2.5, an older version that is still used as a scripting language on many Web hosts and Linux/Unix machines. However, if you want to learn about Python 3.3 and later, you will need to look elsewhere.

Python for Dummies is based on Python 2.5, an older version that is still used as a scripting language on many Web hosts and Linux/Unix machines, even though the language has progressed to release 3.5 as of mid-2016, with syntax changes that forward and backward incompatible.
