The natives of Shu-Torun are revolting, and there's no way the Empire will stand for that. Add a CommentI feel for the guys who take on the task of being this iconic series and character set to comic book life but no one shies away from anything here. I would be so scared to draw Vader the wrong way or write some incredibly idiotic lines but that is a fear that the creators don't share. They introduce new characters to the mythos and do so without losing longtime fans. Highly recommended reading!
This was a good, back-to-basics "Vader helps the Empire divide, oppress and conquer" story. The whole Doctor Aphra storyline gets put on pause to allow the Galaxy's Least Merry Man to crush a local rebellion with death-defying feats of bad-assery and stone cold put-downs.
And, yeah, insist he ballroom dance at your peril.
His new droid sidekicks are still along for the ride as comic relief, as are a couple of cyborg twits as allies/antagonists.
The most interesting character, for me, turns out to be Trios. Her arc is a compelling one, and I hope we see her again someday.
