The art's a bit cartoonish for my taste, but the writing is just right in this volume that features a big bad who's messed around with Barbara Gordon's best asset- her mind. Her response- and that of her allies around her- make the rest of the story flow well.

These books are great especially for female readers. The handling of Barbara Gordon as Batgirl is so contemporary and 'with it' by today's standards. Perhaps it symbolizes the future of the medium if it's to stay alive: hip, relevant, and speaking the language of its target audience.
