The Edge lies between worlds, on the border between the Broken, where people shop at Wal-Mart and magic is a fairy tale--and the Weird, where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny ... Charlotte de Ney is as noble as they come, a blueblood straight out of the Weird. But even though she possesses rare magical healing abilities, her life has brought her nothing but pain. After her marriage crumbles, she flees to the Edge to build a new home for herself. Until Richard Mar is brought to her for treatment, and Charlotte's life is turned upside down once again. Richard is a swordsman without peer, future head of his large and rambunctious Edger clan--and he's on a clandestine quest to wipe out slavers trafficking humans in the Weird. So when his presence leads his very dangerous enemies to Charlotte, she vows to help Richard destroy them. The slavers' operation, however, goes deeper than Richard knows, and even working together, Charlotte and Richard may not survive ...

The last in the Edge series, it brings it all to a close but leaves you wanting more. Thankfully Jack, George and Lark are there. They even make an appearance in the second Innkeeper.

The first book in a series, this book delivers danger, magic and romance. Intriguing characters have me looking forward to the next book!

I rarely read urban fantasy het, but this story was outstandingly riveting! Characters were all likeable and grew believably.

I enjoyed this series and while I think this book was quite interesting,it was not my favorite in the edge series. I definitely hope we see more of jack and george in the future.

Loved the Edge series and ran through them so fast. Then I was sad because there was no more. Great story telling with characters you care about. I can't wait to read more from this team.

I liked the first book in the Edge series but I wasn't wowed. I do love this writing team, so I gave their second Edge book a chance and I am so happy with that decision! The last 3 books have all been great and I can't wait for more. I love them and hope they keep coming.

No Spoilers. Books like this make me happy but yet sad when it HAS to end and there's nothing left to read! Don’t expect to love it in the first few dozen pages but once things start rolling this book is completely addicting. The worldbuilding is so unique and captivating. The “challenges” are lots of fun. They call it rustic fantasy but it’s a love story so, because of all the magic, it’s a UF romance to me and the creepy hounds add horror to the mix.

It sure doesn’t take long to be rooting for the strong heroine in light of all her long list of daily struggles and life hardships. Soooooooo the dreamy concept of being swept away by a rich, titled, courageous, gorgeous and patient hero sounds very ‘fairy tailish’ corny but it absolutely wasn’t. With a bit of talented writing the characters definately take on shape and are genuine, grounded and funny. And their magic ... exciting to say the least. The two kids and their abilities add a great deal of heart and interest to the storyline as well.

I’ve always thought the IA team was genius at creating settings with amazing descriptive detail and interesting plots. This book is no exception.

Yes this series is very different from the Kate Daniels series but imo authors should be flexible enough to create uniquely different worlds. It’s easy to get a sense of their style though in the writing i.e. heck, the third line of the book says “Why me?” which we all know as Kate’s common line!

This would make a great movie ... better than a Stephen King movie! I would just love to see Rose’s amended Atamen’s defense circling her on the big screen! Doubt if it would happen but a gal can wish...

"He's joking," Audrey said. The woman nodded with a patient smile. "Kaldar's like my brother. I've known him all my life. I'm 28, and I've never heard him say that he would marry a woman." "I'm not marrying him." Maybe if she grabbed the dark haired woman and shook her, she'd get the point across. "He's insane." "Wait until Memaw hears of this. She will have an aneurysm from the shock." "I'm not marrying Kaldar!" "How long have you known him?" "9 days." "Have you slept with him?" "No!" What kind of question was that? The woman slapped a hand to the side of her face. "Oh Gods. He is going to marry you." "Are all of your family insane? Or is it just the two of you?"
