Characters: 7/10
Plot: 7/10
Writing: 8/10
Ally Carter definitely captures the "Disney Channel Original Movie" vibe--fun, lighthearted, easygoing, with just the appropriate touch of drama. I love heists--I love the intellectual challenge and the suspense--and this did deliver *some* of that, but I wanted more. There was more interpersonal drama than there were intellectual challenges. We were left out of a lot of the preparations for the heist, and so we couldn't tell if the heist was going well or not while it was happening. I loved the ingenuity of the job they were pulling and the strong stakes/motivation behind it, but it didn't seem as challenging as it should have been (perhaps I've watched the Ocean's movies too many times). I'd be willing to read the sequels to see what else Ally Carter came up with!

This book was confusing at the beginning but as I kept reading, I began to understand. This book is great. And if you like this series you will love the Gallagher Girl series (also by Ally Carter).

I didn't really get into this book until the actual heist took place. It is a book for YAs and I would emphasize the "young" as an adult I often read YA and this is not particularly outstanding. I just didn't buy that the characters were 16. I felt like it tried a little toooo hard. I won't intentionally pick up reading this series or author. It wasn't memorable or particularly entertaining. It was just decent. I finished it.

Pleasant enough, but not fantastic. I'd recommend this book to a 12 year old.

Great book!

Glorifies crime. Teens should be in school, not being criminals. Its not cute or funny.

You can take the girl out of the thieving life, but can you really take the thief out of the girl? Katarina Bishop has been framed. Wrongfully accused of ‘Porsche-gate’ (a dreadful incident where the headmistresses car somehow ended up on top of the fountain) she’s been turned out of the exclusive private school she conned her way in to. Kat finds it impossible to escape her past when Hale, her former (ridiculously wealthy) partner-in-crime who she just might be in love with, let’s her know that he framed her and why. Kat's father is the sole suspect in the theft of five priceless paintings from the collection of the very dangerous Arturo Taccone, a man who doesn't care that her father isn't guilty; he just wants his paintings back at any cost. Kat has two weeks to track down the paintings, steal them back and save her father’s life. With a crew of masterful teenage con artists, a target of one of the most secure buildings in the world, and the FBI watching her every move the question is - does Kat have what it takes to pull off the most spectacularly impossible job ever?
