The middle with all the adventure was definitely very interesting to read. The beginning kind of dragged, but it picked up smoothly. The romance didn't really go anywhere, which apparently my friend said wouldn't go anywhere for the next book either. However, I have hope for potential. Sophia is maturing along through time, and naturally ups and downs in her life affect everything in the story. Her longing to find her parents is inspiring, but at times a bit hard of a concept to grasp. It is really deep. I think of all the maps, I like the water ones the best. The flexibility sounds interesting. 3/5 stars

How, how could S. E. Grove's amazing series go so wrong. I absolutely loved the first book, it was so interesting and original. The second was original as well but unbelievably boring! I'll still read the third, but I am quite sad at how the story took such a turn.
