The NOVA premise that the Franklin expedition went on a Death March down the coast of King William Island is incorrect. Refer to the book, "Unravelling the Franklin Mystery: Inuit Testimony" by David C. Woodman. I would rate "Arctic Ghost Ship" at only 3.0 stars.

Well done documentary on two lost British ships in the arctic region in the 19th century.

An examination of the history of the Franklin expedition and its attempts to cross the Northwest Passage in the 19th century. This looks at unanswered questions, raises some more while getting answers, and follows the successful team of Canadian researchers who located one of the ships in the high Arctic. Interesting material, and well presented, as you expect out of PBS documentaries.

This documentary was well produced. The story is not very exciting. Having said, one can learn from this documentary how underwater archaeologists approach work, such as how to deal with the hostile weather of Artic, 3D underwater ultrasound detection, ..., find evidence under the deep sea, etc. This documentary once again proved that Canada is one of the most technologically advanced country.

Very good documentry, especially for a Canadian expedition. Has great facts & ultimately answers a lot of unanswered questions (while raising a few new ones) about the Franklin expedition. An amazing true story of which we will probably never know all the answers but can make educated guesses.
Wondering if, & hope, there will be a sequel to find the other boat (wont say which one as thats part of the story).
