Hadley is struggling after she found out that her father is cheating on her mother and everyone expects her to continue living normally. Hadley is angry at her father and tries to shut everyone out of her life, especially her dad. Sam is also reeling from all the sudden changes from his parents’ divorce and him moving to a new town. All he wants is to survive until college where he can be independent from his parents. However, once he meets Hadley his thoughts on love change. They genuinely enjoyed each other’s company but Sam is hiding a secret. A secret that can ruin everything. This was a really great book with realistic characters and relationships but it is definitely not a light-hearted read. I was getting sick of books with inst-love and shallow affection and this novel quenched my thirst for a more difficult romance that goes through actual challenges. There is a lot of drama which makes it fast-paced and intense and it discusses important themes. Rating:5/5
