This book is about when a girl presses hard on the bottom of a cookie jar and a small black lump appears out. The dark kept on following the family, and it was bothering them too much. It makes me feel really scared because I am afraid of the dark. I really liked how it is a really interesting book because it engages readers in reading it more often. I disliked the fact that the dark has to be in the book because this book is intended for young readers and young readers may be very scared when reading this book. You never know they might have scary nightmares! Otherwise, I think this book is very fun to read! Rating 4/5

My son loves reading this book over and over. It awakes his imagination and helps kids in general deal with the fear of darkness. The tension slowly builds as you read until it culminates at the moment the Dark is as big as a house. Very interesting, witty children book with totally new angle on a subject. Highly recommended.
