Absolute trash. DNF. I picked this up because Anne Boleyn is one of my favorite historical queens but had to stop reading because of the author's shallow portrayal of her. Anne Boleyn wasn't some edgy motorcycle-riding bad-girl. She was flirtatious, yes, but she was also an intelligent, pious, and ambitious woman who was ahead of her time. People who are interested in novels based on Anne Boleyn are better off picking up a different book.

This contemporary re-telling of the historical King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn is cheeky, tragic, and melodramatic, all in a good way. In this version, an exclusive, private high school in a wealthy suburb of Seattle takes the place of the royal court in medieval England, complete with all the important characters and their schemes. At times, I was frustrated by the way the characters behaved, only to find out, after some research, that's how the real life people behaved, so kudos to the author for being true to the essence of Anne and Henry's story.
