My scale is 1-5. 1 being poor/low and 5 being great/high.

Age Group: Adult

Cliché? ★☆☆☆☆
Nope, the storyline that Nalini unfolds entrances the reader in the unique plot of shifters, psychics, and the mundane.

Mythology/Creatures: Animal shifters, mundanes, and psychics.

Romance: ★★★★★
A very spectacular romance that builds throughout the storyline. Nalini melds both the mystery of death, crime fighting, and romance with grace.

Mystery:★★★☆☆ (2.5)
This book wasn’t so mysterious as it was suspenseful. The mystery of this book is who the blood thirsty person/shifter is behind the violent scenes.

Angst:★★☆☆☆ (1.5)
Dashes here and there, but nothing to over-power or take away from the storyline.

Suspense:★★★★★ (4.5)
Love the suspense of both the building relationship between the two main characters and the suspense behind the crime. Nailing switches between the two to bring the most suspense to the storyline.

Character Development: ★★★★★
They are the type of characters you want to meet in real life. That is how much she brings the characters to life through the pages. I admit it can be confusing at times with so many characters from the three different groupings (psychics, leopard shifters, and wolf shifters).

I am continuing this book series, slowly, so I can appreciate and draw out her marvelous works. That and the archangel series I am caught up on and waiting for the next book to be published.

For this book I loved more of the backstory of the PsyNet/Web of Stars than anything else. I loved how Nalini constructed a world surrounding emotions, shifters, and humans. It has a very futuristic feel to it while at the same time the author brings a very romantic dance between two characters to life.

If you are someone who loves psychics, shifters, and crime-fighting then this is the book for you!

4.0 Stars. (No Spoilers) Another pretty good pnr romance novel. The slow building of emotions in Faith with her jaguar (I envisioned someone like Josh Holloway!) as the catalyst makes for an enticing read.

The Psy and the Changelings couldn't possibly be more opposite. The Psy so cold...the Changelings so "touchy-feely". When NS stirs this up we get fun stuff! I found all the psych aspects (Psy powers, PsyNet, & PsyMind) very interesting and a unique read for the paranormal genre.

If I had one wish with this series so far it would be that the "magic" allowing the Changelings to shift had a more tangible explanation! This world so far encompasses just humans, "Silence"-altered humans (psych strength but not magic), and then we have the Changelings that can easily flash back and forth. So I guess that means the only "magic" is that of the Changelings?!? Just seems too easy & convenient to me.

I prefer the shifters of the Kate Daniels' series (virus struggle with magic) and the Mercedes Thompson series (infection by bite and slow, painful shift) which imho gives a reader a richer world building.

This is still proving to be an excellent series so I look forward to the next!

I'm really liking this series so far. Very unique in a world full of copy cat paranormal stories
I'm glad someone recommended this series to me though because neither the cover art or the title would have inspired me to pick up this book.
