Add a Commentone of my all time favorties ,truly an 80's classic ,one of the great movies of all time,it has an all star cast, includes wiiliam hurt, kevin kline, glenn close, meg tilly, and many others.a must own dvd, this move has been around for almost 40 years and it still
going after all these years.truly an must own dvd.
I had avoided "The Big Chill" for years but decided to find out what all the excitement was about. It wasn't as enjoyable as I had anticipated, but it was a well made film. I love ensemble casts and this one didn't disappoint. I wish they had at least shown Kevin Costner's character (Alex) instead of just mourning his death throughout the movie. That would have made it more moving had we had some insight into who he really was. The acting was very good, but there were some moments that felt overplayed (ie: Glenn Close's character's reaction to Alex's death) without any real explanation. "Big Chill" came out in 1983, while I was still in high school, so that might explain why it took me so long to finally watch it. Some reviewers feel that the movie is dated, but I disagree. It's perfect if you want a "grown up" John Hughes-type movie.
I've seen this film many times and still love it. Excellent performances and of course.. that soundtrack!!
Enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack as well.
Best. Ensemble. Cast. Ever.
This 30+ year film is still one of the best 'buddy reunion' films ever made. With Lawrence Kasdan at the helm and a number of well-known actors you just can't go wrong. This is a talky film but enjoyable to watch.
Baby boomer b.s. Good soundtrack though.
Great cast, some iconic scenes, a good idea. Not my taste, but good nonetheless. Fantastic soundtrack.
One of my favorite movies. Baby Boomers should love the sound-track as well as the story. Great cast. Great writing. Alot of talking; not an action movie by any means. Funny. Enjoyable.
