Kate Daniels just wants to grab some quiet time with the shape-shifting love of her life (and leader of Atlanta's Pack) Curran, but her father has other plans. Kate is the only living child of Roland, the many-thousand-year-old builder of towers, creator of vampires, and the most powerful magic wielder in the world. She has long hidden her paternity, but the secret is out now, and no one whom Kate cares about is safe. The Pack has amassed too much power, and Roland sends his general to Atlanta to take care of them—and Kate—once and for all. The action and tension are high as Kate heads for an inevitable confrontation with her father.

I absolutely LOVE this series! I can't wait for the next book to come out in August!! Every book is better than the last!

Another great book with a twist ending. So happy to find out that this is NOT the last of the series.

As usually Kate and Curran are at their best and we get to see another side of Ghastex. I've always liked him.

A woman in faded jeans and a heavy jacket strode through the Gates. She marched through the snow like she meant business. A tall man wearing a black robe walked next to her, carrying a staff on his shoulder. The top of the staff was carved into the semblance of a raven's head with a vicious beak. I knew that staff. It had tried to bite me once. But then considering that its owner was a black volhv in service to an ancient Slavic god of dark and evil, ornery behavior was to be expected. I had it on very good authority that he also wore Eeyore pajamas, which made me reevaluate his character somewhat.
