Book 1 of Argeneau series, followed by Love Bites. Story of Lissianna, who is a vampire living with hemaphobia - ie she faints at the sight of blood, and Dr. Greg Hewitt, who was kidnapped by Lissi's mother in order to treat her daughter of the phobia. Wow, what a lame story. Throughout the book I wanted to smack the characters in the head for being so stupid. The funniest part was the last few chapters where "the bad guys" were explaining their whole story to Lissi and Greg, instead of staking them. Sooooo not my type of a book.

I enjoyed the explanation for vampirism and loved the Argeneau family. I liked Lissianna, but found her a bit weak and more than a little dumb, but I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she was tired/underfed... Greg makes a wonderful hero, and I hope to see him further in the series.

Off to take his first vacation but ends up being kidnapped and tied to a bed with a red bow tied around his neck. Why the red bow? He is a birthday present for Lissianna from her mother. Marguerite kidnapped Greg to have him help Lissianna of her phobia. Will he be able to cure her?

I hesitated to pick up this story, given the summery and the cover art (I'm not a big fan of romances) but decided to give it a shot. It was better than I expected, but had a few rough spots. The opening was very well crafted, and the writing is fairly good, but it definitely is setting up the series, which comes clearly through in the sheer amount of characters introduced. An interesting take on the vampire myth, but it suffers slightly from romance cliches such as the main characters going from 0 to 190 emotionally within a few days, and so much time being spent on how pretty they both are. None the less, worth reading, and I might try a few more in the series, to see how they are.

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau’s bed? He’s not dessert—he’s the main course!

Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there’s another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sign of blood… an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Her mother thinks she has the perfect solution, and serves up the therapist on a silver platter (or at least a wrought iron bed). Of course it doesn’t hurt that this psychologist has a delicious looking neck.

What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that? Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger’s bedroom pretty quickly—once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor find true love with a hemophobic vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal?

That’s a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into… if he can just get Lissianna to bite.
