I've always been an avid Agathe Christies reader and it all started with this book. Since this was the first I read, it holds a special place in my heart when it comes to Agathe Christie novels. The book is full of red herrings and twists, and the characters are some of Christie's most entertaining. Lastly, this novel is superior to it's predecessor (Poirot's first appearance) and on the same level as "Death On The Nile".

One of my favorites because the sidekick gets the girl.

excellent book lots of twists

A very well-done, twisty, whodunit. Kept me guessing to the very end. I’ve forgotten how charming Hercule Poirot can be. There is a reason why Christie is considered the master (mistress?) of mystery, and you won’t get any argument from me.

Loved the book. Much more subtle and intricate than the TV series Agatha Christie’s Poirot (starring the excellent David Suchet). The end of this—the second Poirot book, published in 1923—is quite endearing. Mrs. Christie did really use “the little grey cells” in her stories!

Excellent read. This mystery has all the twists and turns of a modern-day roller coaster. The outcome is not evident until the very end. A real page Turner.

Charming and witty, with lots of red herrings to throw you a curve, I enjoyed Murder on the Links very much. As with all of Christie’s mysteries, the fun outweighs the obvious coincidences that she relies upon to move the plot forward.

You're marvellous [sic], Poirot. Absolutely marvellous [sic]. No one on earth but you could have done it! (Captain Hastings)

I thought of my mother, long since dead. What would she have said of this strange modern product of girlhood? The pretty face with the paint and powder, and the ghoulish mind behind? (Captain Hastings)

Now, I am old-fashioned. A woman, I consider, should be womanly. I have no patience with the modern neurotic girl who [...] uses language which would make a Billingsgate fishwoman blush! (Captain Hastings)
