First of all, I want to get something straight: this is a JOURNAL, not a diary. I know what is says on the cover but when Mom went out to buy this thing I SPECIFICALLY said to make sure it didn't say "diary" on it. So don't expect me to be all "dear diary this" and "dear diary that".
um.... school..... wants 2 b popular.... never gonna happen.... in 6th grade... greg......SAY COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greg and Rowley's friendship had broke due to Greg terrorizing the kindergarteners by chasing them with worms, and Mrs. Irvine had accused Greg of terrorizing the kindergarteners and thought Greg is Rowley, so Rowley and Collin decided to hang out. In the end, Rowley ate the moldy cheese and Greg said he ate it. So, Rowley and Greg's friendship had been restored thanks to Greg stepping up for it.
Blah Blah Blah Greg Blah Blah Blah Middle School Blah Blah Blah.............
In Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Greg goes to middle school. He does not like it because he is one of the youngest in the school because he is in 5th grade. His best friend Rowley and Greg get in to a fight. Rowley does not hang out with Greg anymore and he found a new best friend, but then some teenages force Rowley to eat some disgusting, moldy cheese off the pavement in the playground that was there for a long time under the basketball hoop nobody will even go near it, so Greg stepped in, in front of everyone and said he ate the cheese. Rowley and greg became friends again.

Add a CommentFun book that reminded me of good (and bad) memories from middle school. The combination of text (which is made to look handwritten) and pictures makes this an easy read, especially for younger kids who might be hesitant about reading a seemingly long novel. Plus, I'm sure it will be deeply appreciated for kids currently enjoying/trying to survive middle school.
This is a really good book. I think people should read it. I can relate to the main character and so could anyone that has ever been bullied. This book is good for 8 to 12 year olds.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid lacks a compelling plot and significant character development. Despite this, it is still a great choice for reluctant readers! The humor and graphic novel-style illustrations will appeal to those who are uninterested in traditional fiction.
for all those who haven't read this book, i'll summarize. Greg is an arrogant and clueless kid who thinks he's the best, his brother Rodrick is a punk, his little brother Manny is a spoiled child, his mom is a education freak, and his dad is always pushing them to do their best and stuff and Greg's friend is pretty much a little child.
Greg Heffley writes about his middle school experiences. This book, written like a diary, is both entertaining and humorous.

I think this is a very good book because it's really enthusiastic and it really explains my life. Miay, age 10
It is funny that Greg is in middle school and I am going. I like the part when he gets ideas like when Greg decided to make a box filled with old stuff. Santiago, age 10.
I like this book because it is about a sixth grade boy and he gets in all kinds of trouble and also has a crush on this girl named Holly Hills. The boys name is Greg and he has to go through the years of middle school sitting near some morons for the rest of the year. His brother Rodrick is a very bad example and said that he is going to kill Greg for being in his room. - Destiny Isabella
I wish there would be ANOTHER book about Greg Heffley. I"ve seen the movie already its really funny
