Good story, but I began to dislike all the characters. Maxon always talked like a fkboi so when he explained his relationship with Celeste at the end, I couldn't have been validated more. The things that made America stick out in the beginning of The Selection now made her publicly unpopular and a disappointment in my eyes such as aggression, impulsiveness, spitefulness, stubbornness, unrefinement, and inability to read the situation. I have personally encountered undesirable people like this in real life so I felt especially annoyed at how America came to show her true colors.

The story was still very engaging as there was many more trials of competition and rebel attacks. The tension was much more heightened so I felt it difficult to put down this book as I am very much addicted to drama llama.

The Elite ups the romance while keeping itself very addictive. Overall a great sequel.

This book was alright, I would say that its my least favorite book in the series. I like the third book the best

Its not a bad series, when reading the first book I was a bit wary, but It got better. And in book two, it has not disappointed me yet. There was a uncomfortable kissing scene, but it wasnt to bad. And there was a slightly intense whipping part, but other-wise from that, the book is really good

The Bachelor in Dystopia should be the subtitle of this series. "The Elite" is the follow up to the terrific first installment, "The Selection". Main character America hasn't been voted off the island and still in the running in the marriage lottery. "The Elite" is a decent read but not really anything earth shattering. There's a new plot twist with the appearance of America's ex Aspen and increased rebel threats, but overall it's just fluff although fun reading fluff.

This is a really exciting book, except for the fact it gets kinda boring with all the politic stuff going on.I know it's important, but still. :)

(America trying to teach Marlee to play hte piano)

Marlee sighed. "I give up. Sorry, America, you've been so patient, but I hate hearing myself play. It sounds like the piano is sick."
"More like it's dying actually." America laughed.

The book The Elite is the second book in The Selection series. Like the last book, it follows the story of America Singer as she decides between her past lover, Aspen or Maxon, the prince whose heart she’s currently fighting for. This time, instead of thirty-five girls fighting for Maxon, we’re down to six girls. Tensions get tight as America is now one step closer to losing Aspen forever, but tensions are not only tight there. Maxon’s father, the king, does not approve of America. Which love will America fight for? All in all, this is a great book, an absolute unit. It carries over the same things that the first book had, without being overbearing. It is most definitely worth following the series right up to the end. Lastly, much like the last book, and the whole series in general, this is most likely going to be best for people interested in dystopian romance novels or series.

Down to 6. The Elite is intense as the 6 girls battle it out. America still can't choose wether she wants Aspen or Maxon but now that this is anyone's game she has to make up her mind.

Only 6 girls are left and America is one of them and as the competition goes on she starts to realize that the people she thought were her friends are not who she thought they were and Maxon might start to like someone else except for her.

Other: After Marlee was caned she showed that she had no regret for breaking the law because it was in the name of love. I am a fan of this series but that part showed a flaw in Marlee's character. She used to be my favorite character. I'm not even angry about what she did I'm angry that she felt no regret.
