Enjoyed this one a lot. After you get past the start, it grows on you. It's got it all.. Aliens, Evil doctor, Serial killer, sadistic staff members, crazy patients. Now the "good" guy.. is found out to be the "bad guy".. and vice versa! The Great Ian McShane is in one of the episodes in later discs. He's a great bad guy. Come to think of it, they are ALL pretty evil. It is pretty "campy" but so what? Lots of action!

Far from even coming close to being original storytelling, this ludicrous TV series repeatedly used the tactics of mercilessly clubbing the viewer over the noggin with one predictable "insane asylum" cliché after another.

With the most contrived skeletons hanging in just about everybody's closet, it soon became pretty clear to me that the producers of American Horror Story (AHS, for short) had absolutely no respect for the intelligence of its targeted audience.

Disappointing, oppressive, annoying, erratic, AHS's heavy-handed approach to its trendy tales of terror, far too often, got itself so bogged down with gloom & doom that it quickly began to grate on my nerves like you wouldn't believe.

Underhandedly using sexual situations and brief glimpses of nudity (both male and female) as a means of spicing up its less-than-frightening scenarios, AHS was a decidedly dull-edged TV program that, otherwise, frequently hit absolute rock-bottom in the realm of terror.

I am completely baffled by the rave reviews and solid 5-star ratings that AHS has collectively garnered for itself.

If you watched the first season about the ghostly house and enjoyed it, they Asylum will blow you away. My favorite episode was a fantasy song and dance routine to an old song called The Name Game. Absolutely stunning! This 2nd series really freaked me out and it takes a lot to freak me out. If you think this was creepy and scary I hope you're all watching or will get the dvd to season 3, The Coven. Kathy Bates, Angela Basset are wonderful additions. I hope there's a season 4. Wonder what that will be like and who will be in it. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
