This had an interesting premise - the use of nanotechnology for not only assassination, but also to tamper with people's minds. Nexus Humanus is an organization that plans to use the mind-tampering concept to create a world of complacent, obedient citizens; BZRK is a group trying to prevent that outcome. These two groups battle in "the macro", that is, on the regular level, but also "down in the meat", that is, on the cellular level. And that's where I lost interest. The technology and science in this book is so detailed, and with the macro and micro-level battles going on simultaneously, it was pretty confusing. Add this to the introduction of quite a large number of (granted, mostly interesting) characters, and I spent a lot of time going back and rereading segments of the book just to clear up some of the confusion. Some of the action parts were pretty exciting, but the climactic scene of the book was, well, a bit anticlimactic. Overall, a decent story, with interesting characters, but too confusing to follow

It took a while to get into to understand, and I had to read the first 100 pages twice to get the gist of the story, but afterwards it's quite good.

Nano-bots infest the human mind, but this is my opinion and mine alone. ... Even if this book is about nano-bots and such, the strory/plot itself is emensely filled with action, from plane crashes to nano-bot-battle. A conection never made before.

BZRK is disturbing, creepy, action-packed and totally addictive. Like the biots in the story, BZRK will get inside your head and you’ll constantly want to get back to reading it (that is if you don’t read it all in one go). No-one writes quite like Michael Grant. He’s given us a glance inside his dark and disturbing mind with the Gone series (which is one of my favourite series) but BZRK takes it to another level. Trust me, you will never look at the human body quite the same again after reading this book. BZRK has the right mix of action, violence, creepiness, and fast-paced writing that makes it a great guys read. You should hand this book to any teenage male who is a reluctant reader and I guarantee it will hook them in and make them want to pick up anything by Michael Grant.
