Opinion

From Library Staff

When Skip Cuddy, one of life's losers, finds a baby asleep and abandoned in a box and decides to keep her, his life is about to be transformed. A "feel good" novel, filled with warmth, love, compassion, and a happy ending, too!

This is a very good story about an abandoned baby left in a box. Found by a young handyman who looks after it and loves the baby. The old lady who owns the big house also gets involved. A sad ending however. I did not like the bad language sprinkled throughout the story. A great novelist like this could surely come up with different words to express the meanings.

A very sweet book, well written, beautiful, graceful time.

I read this book a few years ago and it is still touching. Anna Quindlen has a great way of connecting to the emotions of the characters. This was a great story!
