A disappointing ending to a potentially great trilogy. Maze Runner was so fantastic, The Scorch Trials was great (but not as good as the Maze Runner); I am not as sad at all the deaths as I am at the lack of a satisfying storyline and character development :(

Characters: 6/10
Plot: 6/10
Writing: 9/10
This book was good, and it had resolution, but I wasn't really satisfied at the end. Everything just kept escalating so much until so close to the end that there wasn't enough time to get that peace that everything was really over. I still wondered if everything was a test, if I could tell what was real and what wasn't. Also, way to drop a bombshell in the epilogue, Mr. Dashner. It's over, and there's some hope for the characters, but it doesn't seem like there's much hope for the world as a whole.
I felt kind of manipulated by the characters' deaths. It got to the point where people dying was what I expected, so I didn't have the strong emotional reactions that have been elicited by other book deaths. Even though I cared about the characters who died, I didn't cry because I was like, "Well. Of course they would."
There were definitely some good twists and surprises, so kudos for those. However, I still don't feel like I really know what was going on the whole time...that mystery that propelled me through the whole trilogy didn't feel resolved.

Stories all seem to play on longer than they have to. Or that is what I felt, reading this series. The ending to this book was entrancing but also kind of saddening. I was kind of mixed about Teresa and Thomas and the other girl but I guess triangles all work out in ways we don't always like. It seemed to me to be kind of rushed at the end with not as much effort as there was in the very beginning. This whole confusion with "W.I.C.K.E.D" just got too complicated and sketchy that it didn't drive the plot as nicely as something else could have. All I can say is that at least my favorite character made it to the end, yay! 4.5/5 stars.

A good ending for this so-so series. This one is better than the first as well and on par with my thoughts of the second one.

A solid finish to the trilogy. Like the first two books, it was suspenseful and plot-driven (rather than character-driven). The ending was satisfying (and not overly predictable) though it still leaves a lot of important questions (IMO) unanswered. It appears that there is a book four which will be a prequel to the trilogy. Maybe it will answer those questions?

The Death Cure is a great end to the Maze Runner trilogy. Its sad too see some of the characters die. I don't like how WICKED keeps on lying and that they keep on saying that there is going to be a cure but there isn't. I liked the ending of the book I just wish they would give more details about it.

I liked the Death Cure, it was another great installment to the Maze Runner trilogy. It was exciting and had lots of plot twists. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the ending. it was an OK ending, but I thought the ending was summed up rather quickly (would've liked more detail as to what happens to the characters/new life).

The Death Cure was okay, but not as good as the Maze Runner. It was better than the Scorch Trials, though.

I kept waiting for something exciting to happen then, but it never did.

This book was kind of disappointing and a little boring for me. It was very descriptive but the ending was a let down and didn't really provide answers. The chapters were way too short.

Get ready for another round of intense scenes in the final installment of the series. Thomas has to make tough decisions along with wondering who he can trust. The plot and ending were okay but the reader is still left with questions.

Thomas and the group make it to the safe haven. This time they are in the real world, Brooklyn, they meet a group called the right arm and try to take down wckd together. They lose many friends along the way. Are they capable of ending all of this once and for all?

JessicaGMei Jul 13, 2012

Thomas knows that Wicked can't be trusted, but they say the time for lies is over, that they've collected all they can from the Trials and now must rely on the Gladers, with full memories restored, to help them with their ultimate mission. It's up to the Gladers to complete the blueprint for the cure to the Flare with a final voluntary test.
What Wicked doesn't know is that something's happened that no Trial or Variable could have foreseen. Thomas has remembered far more than they think. And he knows that he can't believe a word of what Wicked says.
The time for lies is over. But the truth is more dangerous than Thomas could ever imagine.
Will anyone survive the Death Cure?
