I haven't read Ms. Cornwell's books for awhile. My interest was renewed with the two movies with the Win Garano character.

I have been trying to remember the other movie so thought maybe I could find the answer by looking at the write-up on the book. Unfortunately there is nothing on Ms. Cornwell's books.

Terrible book. Reads like the rough draft of a proposed novel. Do not like the present tense voice - "he goes here. She does this. etc".
Writing is choppy, with overuse of partial sentences.

The story is very weak and often implausible.

A big disappointment.

Unsubstantial plot. Unbelievable characters. A waste of time to read.

D.A Monique Lamont has a special job for Win Garano. Aws part of a new public relations campaign concerning the dangers of declining neighborhoods, she's sending him to Watertown to come up with a "drama", and she thinks she knows just the case that will serve. Garano is very skeptical, cecause he knows that Watertown is also the home base for a loose association of municipal police departments called the FRONT, set up so that they don't hve to be so dependant on the state-much to Lamont's anger. He senses a much deeper agenda here-but he has no idea just how deep it goes. He'll find that Lamont's task, and the places it leads him, will resemble a house of mirrors-everywhere he turns, he's not quite sure if what he's seeing is true. "Falsehoods rule," warns he grandmother. And they can also kill.
