Despite warnings to stay away, Lady Julia arrives at Grimsgrave in Yorkshire to find Brisbane as remote yet attractive as ever. A mystery soon unfolds from the rotten heart of the house--a mystery surrounding a Gypsy witch, a dark rider and a long-buried legacy of malevolence and evil.
I think the irritating thing about this protagonist is her delusions about her problem solving abilities. She jumps to conclusions and follows through on the basis of these.
Loved this one just as much as the first two books in the Lady Julia Grey series. This volume finds Julia, with two of her siblings, visiting Brisbane at the manor he bought on a remote moor, and of course she ends up getting sucked into a mystery. Good mystery and solid, satisfying romance. This series is so much fun to read.
Third novel in the Lady Julia Grey series. Just as enjoyable to read as the previous two books, but I had one issue- I solved the mystery half way through the book, so I was a bit dissappointed. However, the characters, dialogue, and writing made this a satisfying read and I hope more books starring Nicolas Brisbane and Lady Julia Grey will come our way!
This is the third Lady Julia Grey mystery novel. The book is quite long, yet the author keeps your interest all the way through--the writing flows really well. In this book, Julia goes off to find her nemesis, Nicholas Brisbane, at a remote mansion on the moors. Some well defined characters and a good resolution at the end makes it a satisfying read.
