I listened to 1000 Forms of Fear, her most recent album, before this one, so I was surprised at the major difference between the 2 albums. This album is much more fun and upbeat than the dark 1000 Forms of Fear. Many of the songs sounded similar to me, except for the horribly sad, plaintive "I'm In Here" (piano vocal version is better), which was beautiful and featured pained yet gorgeous vocals from Sia. The other songs that stuck out to me as the most catchy were "Stop Trying," "Bring Night," and "Never Gonna Leave Me." "The FIght" is also catchy and has a great message. Especially after the terrible challenges Sia has faced in her life, I admire her as a powerful, inspirational musician.
I absolutely adore everything Sia puts out. She is incredibly talented and her songs and soulful voice hit your heart. I have been blessed on several occasions to meet her and honestly she's one of the kindest people i've ever had the honour of meeting. I'm a fan for life!
Songs to check out: I'm In Here, Oh Father (Madonna cover), The Fight
To be quite honest, Sia's songs have no hook - they're not memorable nor catchy. But her vocals are sweet, as demonstrated in 'I'm In Here (Piano Vocal Version)', which is one of my favourite songs on this album. A good album, but not great.
