A partially animated documentary tells the story of the Fukushima family, primarily seen through the eyes of nine-year-old Minoru Fukushima. The family's history is traced from 1941 to 1953, during which time Japanese Canadians were evacuated to internment camps under the wartime policy of the government headed by Prime Minister Mackenzie King. The Fukushima family was interned in British Columbia and ultimately deported to Japan. The family eventually relocated back to Canada.
