This is a really well-written book by Kenneth Oppel, author of the Airborne series. When Ben's parents adopt a baby chimp to conduct a sign language experiment, he becomes attached and considers "Zan" his "little brother". But, chimps grow up and don't fit in so well with humans--the dilema, what do you do then? On the Red Maple list for the Forest of Reading for 2011.
