Centuries ago, by a scaffold in Manhattan, rose petals drifted gently to the ground like snow on a wintry Massachusetts night. Melody Tarleton is driving home for Christmas when a man clad in a Revolutionary War costume appears right in the path of her car. Shaken, she takes the injured stranger in, listening with concern to his fantastic claim that he's a Patriot soldier, sentenced to death by the British. The last thing he remembers is the tug of the noose.

I was pleasantly surprised by the story. An excellent read and very enjoyable. I will be trying out more of this author in the future.

I also enjoyed the story more than I expected to. I thought the author did a good job of imagining what somebody from 1776 would think of the modern world.

I was pleasantly surprised by this guilty little read of a Christmasy book! A man, about to be hanged for treason in 1776, is transported to modern day...and, of course, love ensues.
