It may be a style of film making but this is flat and one-dimensional. The acting is wooden and lacking in subtlety even though the racial tensions which form the basis for the film are certainly an accurate mirror of 1970's Germany and even more so today with the influx of migrants and, one might say, of many places in the world.

bad boy director Fassbinder softens his approach and makes a film inspired by All the Heaven Allows adding differences in race to those of age and social status.
