A phony psychic realizes she's in way over her head while "cleansing" a wealthy client's home. But is the danger supernatural or human? You'll be wondering who's conning who till the last page of this story from the author of Gone Girl.

Witty and unexpected.

Great story with unpredictable twists. I wish it was longer than 62 pages.

A great choice for a quick read. The story was engaging and fun to follow.

"The Grownup" is very adult and creepy. The author did what she set out to do; created a ghost story that hangs around after the book is closed. At 62 pages, this novella is easy to complete in one sitting.

A nice little read, very entertaining and well written with surprises. Flynn keeps you turning pages and enjoying this short story. And then you want more.

Adulting is hard. Especially when you're a fake psychic and your wealthy client lives in a possibly haunted house with her potentially murderous stepson. All you can do is try to get by... and get out alive. This (very) short story from…

I will probably enjoy anything Gillian Flynn writes- I do wish this was a bit longer and provided a bit more closure, but then again that's what made the book so memorable. A very quick read that jumps right in and holds your attention to…

Flynn has written a twisted short story / novella with a nod to Henry James. I loved it.

I didn’t know what to expect considering how short this book was, however, it was yet another twisted story by the author of Gone Girl. It almost started off as a journal entry and kept me really intrigued. It is well written and creepy…

OK, so... where's the rest of the story? It just stops. We're supposed to figure out what happens and who's telling the truth? Uh-uh, sorry, that just doesn't work for me, Ms Flynn. I really enjoyed the story and was invested in the…

Interesting story. Somewhat not believable but still couldn't put it down. Finished in one sitting so if you are looking for something short, this one is pretty good.

Honestly, an underwhelming story. Thankfully it was short.

Super open ended and you don't really know what the "truth" is in the end but it was a really interesting story. The more I reflect on it, the more I think I like it.

This book had promise...but I was quite disappointed with the stories shortness.

Just Gillian Flynn in all of her fucked up goodness. A nice appetizer until she publishes her next book!

Now here's a creepy tale...and one that makes the reader really think. I was reminded of The Turn of the Screw, The Haunting of Hill House and The Shining-definitely a great Gillian Flynn story.

One of the funniest leads about carpel tunnel from giving hand jobs at work. Creepy story, great surprise ending.

A scam artist posing as a psychic latches on to one of her clients and gets much more than she bargained for in Gillian Flynn’s eerie, engrossing novella “The Grownup.” Fans of Flynn’s caustic wit, dark humor and very messed up female…

Short and interesting. I wish there were more books written by Flynn as I have enjoyed everything she has ever written.

A entertaining quick read - would make a good episode on a "Twilight Zone" type TV series.

As creepy as Gone Girl. A single CD - so more of a novella than a novel. That Ms. Flynn sure knows how to write a gripping tale.

Read it in a single sitting. Quick, fun, twisty. Left me guessing until the end. Good weekend read.
