I am a HUGE fan of McMahon's and buy her books in hardback as soon as they come out; this one, was not one of my faves. Started out strong but the ending had me going " seriously" good read but not great read.

This started out well as a creepy mystery alternating from the 1950's to present day. But near the end it turned into something completely ridiculous. Skip this one, not worth your time! McMahon's other book, 'The Winter People' was better.
A very good light, but creepy read. A bit predictable of an ending, but it reminded me of
Psycho...a creepy hotel, creepy relatives...I highly recommend.

A gripping mystery ghost story narrated between the past and present of a family suffering from what can only be described as a curse. The author keeps you guessing until the very end who's the cause of the trouble and if it's possibly…

I picked this up because I really, really love "The Winter People" and this seemed to be going along the same lines. More time jumps this time but family secrets and weird happenings and bizarre crimes. In this story though the slow burn…

I enjoyed this book--it had a very creepy vibe going on--but I felt like the ultimate resolution wasn't terribly satisfying. I wanted a bit more explanation of what was going on and it felt a bit rushed and details were left out that might…

Really liked this story about a family curse and how it affects the cursed and those around them. Action goes between current time, recent history, and way back in the 50s. It's all tied together with an outdated, decrepit motel with a…

This book kept me engrossed the entire time--I couldn't put it down and when I had to (sleep, work, etc...) I couldn't wait to get back to it! it kept me guessing as to what would happen next. Definitely a must read if you're into…
Another creepy read that kept me guessing. In the shadow of an old motel stands a tower that is falling to pieces. Once two young girls played there while their parents ran the motel. Now only one sister remains, looking for clues in…

I was ultra-excited to read this book based on how much I loved McMahon's previous title The Winter People. I am happy to report that I was not disappointed. In fact, I think it was even better! Just a few words that I would use to…
